About Us
fam·i·ly - Two or more people who share goals and
values and have long-term commitments to one another
Welcome to West Metro Church of Christ, a community of believers with
a sincere desire to follow Jesus by imitating Him. You will see that there
are many, many things going on at West Metro. Our families are involved
in all sorts of hands-on ministry. We have programs for all ages. In our
Education Ministry we offer classes for children from newborns to teenagers.
Also, our adults have three classes from which to choose including specific,
relevant, men-only and women-only classes.
Our Ladies' Ministry is a source of inspiration and encouragement to many
in our congregation and community as our ladies continually reach out
and make a difference to people. They are always creating unique opportunities
to reach people for the Lord.
Our various youth ministries are thriving as well. "Cool Kids for
Christ" is our ministry to 3rd-5th graders. Led by several sets of
capable and loving parents, the Cool Kids group is always active. Our
teenage group is growing and active as well. Regularly scheduled spiritual
activities and getaways help keep this group focused upon the most important
things - Jesus and His work.
Our little ones also have the opportunity to learn and grow through special
activities designed just for them. On Sunday mornings we host Wee Worship
for our 2-5 year-olds. Wee Worship is a program led by talented teachers
that involves age-appropriate worship and related activities. Wee Worship
also allows parents to focus during worship, knowing that their children
are being taken care of - physically and spiritually. On Sunday evenings
we host a similar program called Children's Bible Hour. Bible Hour operates
on a similar principle but for two different age groups: 3 year-olds through
Kindergarten and 1st-3rd graders.
Our older members have not been forgotten. In fact, you'll find that our
Forever Young group is the most active of all! This group loves to get
together to visit and serve. They also enjoy visitors - of any age.
I hope that your visit with us is challenging and inspirational. I hope
as well that while you are with us you will see that we have something
very special here at West Metro - thanks to God we are truly a family.
We enjoy one another. We serve one another. We love one another. And,
we love new family.
Thanks for visiting.
Because He lives,

What we believe about the Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God.
Our authority in faith and practice is the Bible. We strive to follow
Jesus' teachings and the biblical examples for church worship as outlined
in the New Testament. We continuously strive to restore New Testament
Christianity in today's world. We believe our ultimate authority rests in
God's word, not human traditions, doctrines, or creeds.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking,
correcting and training in righteousness so that the man of God may be
thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

What to expect at worship
The worship service at West Metro is simple and
centers on Jesus Christ.
Our goal is to praise God and help each person to draw closer to God and
Christ. We sing a cappella, pray, have communion, and study scriptures from
the Bible.
At other times, there are a variety Bible study classes for all ages.
There are other groups that meet for discussion and study, as
well as encouragement and fellowship. This is an opportunity to discuss
personal concerns with acceptance and love.

Becoming a member
Anyone who confesses Jesus Christ as Lord, and turns away from a sinful
lifestyle and imitates the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus in
water baptism, receives forgiveness of sins, the Holy Spirit and membership
in the body of Christ.
Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name
of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the
gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for
all who are far off--for all whom the Lord our God will call."
(Acts 2:38-39)
Two thousand years ago Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was brutally
crucified on a wooden cross outside of Jerusalem. On the third day after His
death He arose from the grave, and forty days later He ascended to Heaven to
sit in glory at the right hand of God.
God so loved the world that He sent His Son to earth to live and die for
the sins of the world. To humanity hopelessly lost in sin, the story of Jesus is
indeed the greatest story ever told. All God asks of us is to believe in His Son,
placing our faith and trust in Him, being born again of water and the Spirit and
submitting ourselves to the lordship of Jesus. God will not impose Himself
upon us; He simply waits for us to accept
the Free gift of His Son Jesus Christ.
