Who We Are

Our youth group is built on the foundation of Christ’s teachings. We believe that age doesn’t limit what we can accomplish in His name. Guided by verses like Matthew 18:20 (“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them”) and 1 Timothy 4:12 (“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young”), we strive to make a difference in the world while growing closer to God.

We’re a diverse group of teens with different backgrounds, interests, and talents, but we’re united by our shared faith. Whether we’re studying the Bible, enjoying a game of mini-golf, or attending a youth rally, we cherish the time we spend together.

What We Do
Here's a glimpse into the life of our youth group
  • Bible Studies: We dive deep into Scripture and discuss topics relevant to the lives of teenagers living as Christians in this world. Our main goal is to aid our teens in becoming disciples now and for tomorrow.

  • Fun Events: From visits to an arcade, attending youth rallies, or visiting a members home for dinner and devotional, there’s always something exciting on the calendar.

  • Fellowship: Everything we do serves to aid in building meaningful friendships through group outings and shared experiences.

Questions? We've got answers!

We meet regulalry twice a week. On Sunday mornings, following our 9:30 worship, we head to Bible class at 10:45. On Wednesday evenings we meet at 7:00pm in the auditorium for a time of prayer and worship before splitting into the different classes offered. The teenage class meets in the middle school/high school classroom at the end of our education wing.

Beyond our scheduled class meetings, we offer various times to get together ranging from a couple of hours on a Saturday to week long summer camps. We hope that you pick a time to join us!

Our youth program is for all students in grades 6-12. We typically promote any recent 5th grade graduates at the beginning of the summer so they can jump into participating in our summer programs. Our graduating seniors are welcome to remain with us throughout the summer following their high school graduation.

On Sunday mornings we teach topical lessons with a focus on our yearly theme. Currently we are studying what it means to be "Like Jesus." Topics cover what it means to follow and imitate Jesus, our call to make more disciples and to be servants, and the need to continue to learn, grow, and mature while also helping others do so as well.

On Wednesday nights we, as a group, pick a book of the Bible and do a verse by verse and chapter by chapter study of the text. By the end of a student's time in our youth program they will have developed a greater understanding of a large prortion of the Bible. Our current study is on the book of Revelation and past studies have included Genesis, Acts, and the Gospels.

Yes and Yes! I cannot say that enough. We encourage and want parental invovlement. Parents are welcome to join in on classes, teach on occassion, and to attend any and all of our events. Not only does your invovlement aid our youth minister in keeping everything organized but, and more importantly, it surrounds our students with more Christian role models and mentors.

Yes! Whether it is helping a member of our congregation, serving our community, assisting the children's ministry, supporting our mission efforts, joining the summer mission trip to Honduras, etc. there are plenty of ways to get involved and serve as has been exemplified by Christ.

We offer a variety of events throughout the year. Our large, annual events include a fall/winter retreat, Gulf Youth Experience (MLK weekend), Lads2Leaders/Leaderettes (year round with a convention Easter weekend), Impact summer camp hosted by Lipscomb University (June), and a July church ran summer camp.

Our smaller and more local events include: a visit to an aracde/bowling alley, mini golf, home devotionals, movie nights, game nights, visit a skating rink, and much more.

If you have more questions we encourage you to reach out through the contact form at the end of this page. You may also find an answer in this parent information packet that will give you a more in depth view of what our group is all about.
